Dr David Alleyne

As the co-founder of GUL, David has over 25 years of experience in the field of guided waves testing and is responsible for the original designs of the transducers and ring clamps. David is currently responsible for the development of GUL’s current and future business.


Dr Mark Evans

With over 20 years of field experience and supporting clients on site, Mark is currently heading the company’s training and qualification schemes which is dedicated to meeting the rigorous quality assurance and system performance of GUL’s customers around the world.


Ben Nooteboom

Ben has over 20 years of work experience in the field of conventional and advanced non-destructive testing methods. Over the last decade, Ben has conducted more than a hundred guided wave testing training courses across the globe.


Dr Jimmy Fong

Jimmy has been working in GUL’s Research and Development Department since 2005. He is currently responsible for the development of new and innovative designs of transducers and ring clamps.

With dedicated classrooms and elaborate outdoor pipe loops, Inter-Granite Training Centre offers the best guided wave testing training experience in the world.

Suitable for NDT inspectors new to the field of guided wave testing (GWT) of straight pipes. (6 days)

Course Content

Advanced application specific training course for the inspection of supports and process pipework. (6 days)

  1. If you wish to participate, please register your personal details at http://www.guided-ultrasonics.com/registration-form/.
  2. Your reservation will only be confirmed with a purchase order (PO) from your company.
  3. Please also note that a minimum of 4 candidates is required for any course to proceed, therefore we reserve the rights to cancel or reschedule at any time. Places on GULT courses are limited so we therefore operate a cancellation policy regarding refunds.
  4. Once you have received confirmation of your place on the training course you will be liable for the whole fee unless we receive written notification of cancellation.


  1. For bookings cancelled two or more weeks before a course is due to start, 100% of course fees paid will be refunded to the applicant.
  2. No refund will be made for bookings cancelled less than two weeks before the event, except in exceptional circumstances and then only at the discretion of the Training Manager.
  3. In the event of cancellation of a training event by GULT, we will endeavour to inform all participants at least two weeks before the course is due to take place and all course fees paid will be reimbursed in full.
  4. GULT will not be liable for any losses or expenses, including consequential, arising from any such alterations or amendments to the programme.
  5. Where dates are varied by GUL Training, course participants may request a full refund if the new dates are not convenient.

  1. Successful candidates are issued with a certificate which is specific to the course attended.
  2. They are issued with an ID key which allows them to log onto the Wavemaker® instrument and holds a record of their name, company and certification status.
  3. Additionally, a qualification card is issued to them when they have fulfilled the on-site component of the training.
  4. The operator is recommended to have this card with them when they perform the screening using the GUL Wavemaker.
